Gregg Asher (his father Warren is holding the Northern) caught this 11lb 36 1/2 Northern off the fishing pier opening week of the 2003 fishing season. It was caught in the middle of the afternoon on a floating Lindy rig with a small hook and minnow on 8 lb line. Spring 2003

Frances Skrypek's northern was caught in front of Veterans on the Lake cabin #10 on Fall Lake. He was fishing from the dock.

Veterans on the Lake is located on the shores of Fall Lake. Fall Lake covers 2,200 acres. Approximately 5 miles of Fall Lake is non-restricted to any size motors. The East end, where Mile Island is located starts the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and is restricted to 25HP maximum limit. If you meet these requirements, we will issue you a guest exempt permit at no charge. To enter Fall Lake and beyond a permit is required. Our boats are permitted for Fall Lake only.
Fall Lake is located 3 miles east of Ely on Hwy 169.
